For every up there is a down. If the premiums fall for young men they are set to rise more for young women from next December, thanks to the EU. This is unfair because, in the main, it's the confident young men that cause the serious and expensive accidents whereas young women take longer to pass their driving test on average and are the more conservative and typically safer drivers. But you can be sure that the extra young women pay will not equal the discount men get (this is called equality apparently??) because the insurance companies will find a way to supplement their coffers in so doing. Those poor insurers have been having a tough time we hear. As if...
